“Tulum ruins were really stunning! Great location and such a cool place to see. Coba is also a really special place in the jungle......but take insect repellent with you! The cenote was amazing and we got to swim through the caves. Cruz was a great guide through the caves and knew lots of interesting facts/points on interest. Definitely take goggles or a mask and snorkel to get the best out of this experience! We had a great time with Richard the driver and Pastor our guide. Would thoroughly recommend this trip!”

“Coba is under rated. It should be before Tulum or on it's own. This place deserves a cleansing before entering. Coba is so beautiful. It is humbling to stand in a place where others more creative than myself have imagined. It is truly magnificent.”

“Me and my sister had a lovely time on this tour. Carmen told us all about the Mayan history and we could feel it in the places we visited. I would recommend to do coba by bicycle or tricycle it is a nice way to see all without having to break out in much sweat. The dive in the cenote was like a dream. The way down was steep, but wonderfull. It was not busy, at one point we were alone in the cenote. The chichen itza itself is beautiful, but the information from our tour guide Carmen was what made it magical. The way back was long, but busdriver…”

Review of Cancun’s 4x1 tour to Tulum, Cobá, a cenote, and Playa del Carmen, with costs, timing, guides, transport, and practical tips.

“It’s a long 12-14h trip. You get to get up very early to be picked up and need to get off the bus to join another bus in the middle. Pros: you see everything in one day. Guide and driver friendly and working hard. No mandatory purchase. Very detailed guide at archaeologic site. Cons: you have to bring your snack and water. Since your early 6:30 breakfast, you won’t get fed til 3:30pm . And you walk quite a lot and sweat a lot. So not good for diabetic people or with other medical conditions. Alternative is to book an 8h Tulum trip instead of 4x1”

“Tour, Guide and driver was exceptional, however, we had to make over 4 stops. We started at 7:09 am at our hotel and it was 10:15 am when the bus picked up the final guess. I asked for a small group, but it ended up with a full bus load. So, we spent 6 of the 12 hours just on the bus pickup and drop off.”

“This was a long all day tour and was very enjoyable! We had plenty of time at Tulum and Coba to explore and take pictures – two hours at each place! And the Cenote had a lot of amenities and was extremely cool. Just loved the swings that were in the water. Our guide was fantastic. Overall great value for the money – I would really recommend it. The only downside was how long it took us to get there from Playa Del Carmen. We made lots and lots of stops… So after two hours plus – we finally arrived at Tulum. That really was the only negative for the…”

“I would like to thank our tour guides for being awesome and entertaining. It was nice to spend time at the beautiful beach. Being able to cool off in the ocean was a plus. Our lunch was so delicious and satisfying after being so active. Cobá was my bucket list item, it was so fun. The cenote was a treasure and so refreshing. I recommend. Love that it was a small group tour.”

“Manny was great. He was our driver as well as our personal guide throughout the day. He had great information and a book/phone full of photos. He also sprinkled in a few bits of humor along the way, i.e. the “Mexican Chicken”. The van was clean and comfortable. You can tell that they must clean the van each time because you track in a lot of dust on your shoes. He picked us (4 of us, mom, dad, 13 year old daughter and 16 year old son) up at our hotel, and drove us to Tulum, about two hours (our hotel is north of Cancun, so it may not be…”

“I ended up not taking the trip. It's a two hour ride to Tulum, so a couple of days before I asked whether the bus had bathrooms. They said that they couldn't tell me whether there would be a bathroom until the morning of the trip. That morning they told me that our bus didn't have a bathroom so I had to cancel. However, that was past the cancellation time, and they wouldn't refund my money and Viator wouldn't either.”

“Not a 4-1 tour! Small minibus, im 5’8 but space for my legs! Changed bus 3 times! Spent 1/2 day dropping off people , picking up and waiting g for buses. For the final destination on the outskirts of plays Carmen , the bus abruptly stopped and we were ordered to get off as another bus and driver were waiting to take us back to Cancun. When we tried to explain that our tour was not done yet , they threatened to leave us stranded if we continued on with the rest of the group. We tried to speak to a supervisor but we were ignored and no one spoke…”
